Colorado Buffaloes stars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are playing in their final college game before entering the NFL.
Colorado’s two-way threat and Heisman winner, as well as their star quarterback, are currently participating in Saturday’s postseason matchup against No. 17 BYU.
To protect Hunter and Sanders’ NFL futures, the two are covered under disability insurance, which coach Deion Sanders originally suggested.
Sanders announced his players had taken out “historic” insurance policies so their futures would be “insured if something were to happen” in San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl.
“It was [Deion’s] idea we should get disability insurance for our athletes for this game to ensure that they played and if there was some kind of injury that they would be well taken care of,” Colorado AD Rick George said of the move. “So, we worked together on that. We’re excited about it, we think it’s great that all our players are playing in the game. That’s what all bowl games should be like.”
“We have a multitude of players that are draftable, that they received a draft grade,” Coach Prime explained. “They had visibility [insurance] all season long, we want to make insure that if something were to happen, they would cover it.”
“We happen to have two players that are probably going to be the first two picks of the NFL Draft. We all know who those two are and they have received, I think, the highest number of coverage that has ever been covered in college football. It far exceeds anyone that has ever played this game of college football.”

According to legal insider Darren Heitner, the belief is that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter each have coverage for over $18 million.
Colorado Already has Replacements For Shadeur Sanders, Travis Hunter
The Colorado Buffaloes will suit up for the Alamo Bowl against BYU, knowing they will never have Shedeur and Travis on the team again.
Both Sanders and Hunter will suit up for the game for the final time./
Their replacements have likely already been found.
Incoming freshman Julian Lewis grabbed headlines last month when he committed to Colorado after having de-committed from USC.
In addition to him, it appears that fifth-year senior Kaidon Salter, a transfer from Liberty, will likely be Shedeur Sanders’s immediate successor.
With Travis Hunter’s imminent departure to the NFL, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders added a wide receiver through the transfer portal.
Joseph Williams, a talented player from Tulsa, is set to fill the wide receiver position.
