Deion Sanders is rumored to be a candidate for a new job following a recent high-profile firing.
The Colorado head coach is being linked with Texas A&M in the wake of Jimbo Fisher’s departure, with fans and media personalities alike urging him to leave the Buffaloes and take up the SEC gig.
Sanders is now one of the most popular college football coaches in the country given his early success in Boulder and he would be great for the SEC. However, he would be doing his sons a massive disservice should he opt to leave the Buffs at the end of the season.
Primetime coaches two of his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, in Colorado. They both have another year of eligibility and the former NFL star has implied that they will play it out before declaring for the NFL Draft.
If he ends up leaving CU, it would mean leaving them behind as the NCAA would not approve another transfer waiver for them given that they already moved from Jackson State to Colorado. Shilo also played for South Carolina before he joined JSU.
“Let’s remember the NCAA showed this year it doesn’t like to give waivers to 2nd-time transfers. If Deion goes to A&M, he either leaves Shedeur, Travis and others behind (not gonna happen) or risks them transferring and not being eligible in 2024 (not likely to happen),” Colorado beat writer Brian Howell pointed out amid the rumors.

Of course, Sanders leaving for Texas A&M is already far-fetched on the surface. But should he decide to leave the Buffs, it will likely be after the 2024 season.
