Another week and yet another loss for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders got battered often on Saturday night against the UCLA Bruins. Colorado’s overmatched offensive line kept collapsing, making Shedeur Sanders a sitting duck for UCLA’s vaunted defense.
Things got so bad that Sanders received some sort of injection to help play through the pain against UCLA on Saturday, his father and head coach Deion Sanders said postgame.
“Offensively we’ve gotta improve, you see that. Quarterback is taking a beating. He got an injection at halftime. Probably shouldn’t tell you that but you know I’m 100. Just to block some of the pain. So I’m going to give him the next few days off so he can at least be mobile because I know once that block is off, he’s going to feel it tonight. We’ve gotta do a better job of protecting him,” Deion said postgame.
Deion added that Shedeur is not injured, just banged up everywhere.
“I don’t know, he’s hurting everywhere. Trust me,” Deion said.

After capturing the nation’s attention with a 3-0 start, Colorado is now 4-4 with no relief in sight with four games left in the regular season. If not for squandering a 29-0 halftime lead the previous game, the Buffaloes would be sitting at 5-3 right now.
The Buffs’ first-year coach said his team got its “butts kicked” but also “played their butts off.” He noted how the only game his team didn’t have a chance to win this season was its 42-6 loss at Oregon last month.
The Buffaloes next host No. 12 Oregon State Saturday at home as they hope to find some way to survive and keep Shedeur Sanders upright.
