The Colorado Buffaloes are one of the most hyped NCAA teams in recent memory, and this could be due to the fact that they are coached by NFL legend Dion Sanders, have one of the top do-it-all X-factor players in Travis Hunter, or even that Dion’s son, Shedeur, is quarterbacking.
For the sake of everyone who watched their 2023 college season unfold, we’re not going to lie and say that their field play garnered so much attention, but having the star power certainly was a talking point.
The younger Sanders, however, seems to be extremely confident in his father’s coaching ability and his own playing ability. He has publicly shared his thoughts on how he believes his team will play next season.
While he hasn’t directly stated that the team will be in contention to win more than last season’s total of four games, his quote was much more direct than most would have expected. Sanders publicly stated, “if you’re not playing here, then you’re not good enough,” directing the quote at players who are entering the transfer portal.

Players who entered the transfer portal and decided to commit to teams other than the Buffaloes include safety Caleb Downs and fellow signal-caller Julian Sayin, who are 5-star recruits and transferred from Alabama to Ohio State.

Sanders was a bright spot on a 2023 Buffaloes team that went 4-8, as he recorded a completion percentage of 69.3 while throwing for over 3,200 yards and 2 touchdowns compared to just three interceptions.
With last season behind them, the University of Colorado looks to bounce back in a big way as Dion continues to coach the team with Shedeur holding down the QB position and Travis Hunter on his A-game on both sides of the ball.
