Shaquille O’Neal’s son Shareef O’Neal blasted an online troll who had the nerve to blame him for Bronny James’ cardiac arrest.
Bronny, who is the eldest of LeBron James’ children, was reported to have been rushed to a medical facility on Monday after collapsing during practice with his new USC teammates. The 18-year-old is now stable and out of ICU, but it must have been a scary experience for him and his family. And fans have been sending messages of support since the news broke.
A Twitter user somehow thought to use the terrible news to troll Shareef, referencing the G League player’s own heart issues to try to make light of a situation no one needs to attempt making light of.
“Bronny started hanging with Shareef and now look,” the troll wrote. “@SSJreef stay yo A away from him he’s destined for greatness not overseas ?”
Shareef, who is very close to Bronny, had open-heart surgery back in 2018 to correct a right anomalous coronary artery. And he took to the social media platform with a response that would have been forgiven had it been a lot harsher.
“That is very disrespectful of you to say,” he wrote in a tweet that’s since been deleted. “I’ve been around Bronny for a very long time before this happened … I’ll pray for you. You need help … sick that you would even say something like that ??♂️??♂️??♂️#dummy.”

The 23-year-old added that, while he doesn’t like acknowledging negativity on social media, he couldn’t let this particular troll go unanswered.
