U.S. Senator Rick Scott has received a response from the CFB following his criticism of the committee’s controversial decision to omit the Florida State Seminoles from the College Football Playoff National Championship.
The 13-0 Seminoles were left out of the four-team postseason despite a perfect record. The No. 3 ranked Texas Longhorns and No. 4 ranked Alabama Crimson Tied (both 12-1), both qualified for the playoffs, along with the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies.
On X/Twitter, Scott revealed the letter he received from College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock. In the letter, Hancock stated that the committee didn’t view the Seminoles as “the same team without” starting QB Jordan Travis, who was lost for the year with a broken leg:
