Fans were not happy to learn that they would not be allowed to enjoy a favorite American pastime at the SEC Championship game on Saturday.
The Georgia Bulldogs, the reigning National Champions, took on the Alabama Crimson Tide on the day and promised lots of entertainment. Of course, the matchup lived up to the hype, but it would have probably been a whole lot more enjoyable had fans been permitted to drink alcohol.
In what was a pretty bizarre decision, the organizers of the event let attendees know that “alcohol will not be served to general admission at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.”
As you might imagine, the announcement was hard to accept.

One user saw the wisdom in it, though…
The game ended with Alabama snapping Georgia’s 29-game winning streak with a 27-24 result to become SEC Champions, leaving Bulldogs fans with even more reason to be upset.
