Rumors claiming Boise State star Ashton Jeanty has been suspended have caught fire online this week.
The running back is among the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy, given the incredible numbers he’s been putting up this season. He’s the only player thought to have a more-than-realistic shot of beating Colorado’s Travis Hunter to the award.
However, as rumor would have it, his season is over.
According to the TikTok account Clipfor41, the star RB has been suspended for the remainder of the season due to steroid use. While the fake report had fans going, the account doesn’t hide that it’s all about trolling, with its bio reading “new sports updates, Fake news, Troll your friends.”
The video, titled “Ashton Jeanty Suspension Impact on College Football Season,” has the following description: “Ashton Jeanty has been suspended for the remainder of the season due to using steroids #news #sports #fyp #football #collegefootball.”

They even spelled steroids wrong, probably deliberately.
Some Fans Fell For the Wild Ashton Jeanty Rumor
Social media didn’t know what to believe at first, given how shocking this all sounded.
“Is this true?” someone asked.
“Suspended for what? Where is your proof?” another inquired.
“How to get sued for slander,” said a third.
“Bro his profile says “FAKE NEWS” yall needa chill and look before commenting,” a user pointed out.
Another TikToker, wifeqi, shared the clip with claims that Jeanty had been suspended for a year, claiming the NCAA conducted drug testing, which the RB failed.
While it is true that athletes who fall afoul of the NCAA’s anti-doping rules can lose a year of eligibility, there’s really no truth to the rumor.
Had Ashton Jeanty been suspended, TikTok wouldn’t be the first place you’d see it.
