Before the start of Monday’s National Championship Game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Washington Huskies, the roof of NRG Stadium began to leak. Richard Johnson of Sports Illustrated shared a video of the leakage:
As noted by the Weather Nation X/Twitter account earlier today, there was a tornado watch issued in the states of Louisiana and Texas (including the Houston area). NRG Stadium, the site of the game, is also the home of the NFL’s Houston Texans.
The No. 1 ranked Wolverines and No. 2 ranked Huskies both enter the championship game with undefeated records. Michigan and Washington last won the national championship in 1997 an 1991, respectively.
NRG Stadium will also play host to the Texans-Cleveland Browns AFC Super Wild Card Round game on Saturday.
