On Thursday, tragic news rocked the sports world after Kentucky Wildcats basketball player Terrence Clarke died in Los Angeles after a car accident. He was just 19.
“Terrence Clarke, a Kentucky freshman guard headed for the NBA Draft,” Wojnarowski tweeted. “Died following a car accident in the Los Angeles-area this afternoon, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN. Clarke’s mother was at his side when he passed on Thursday. He was 19 years old.”
Clarke was an up-and-coming player who had just declared for the NBA Draft back in March. Even more heartbreaking is that he had just signed on with Klutch Sports the day before.
Klutch CEO Rich paul released a statement after the tragic news.
“We are saddened and devastated by the tragic loss of Terrence Clarke. He was an incredible, hard-working young man. He was excited for what was ahead of him and ready to fulfill his dreams…”
“….Our prayers go out to Terrence and his family, who ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

According to local news station in Lexington, Kentucky WKYT, Clarke and fellow Kentucky Wildcats player BJ Boston were leaving a work out in Los Angeles.
In six starts with Kentucky, he put up 9.6 points, 2.0 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Massachusetts State Representative Liz Miranda sums up what Clarke meant to the town.
“Sad day for Dorchester & Boston,” Miranda wrote in a tweet. “Literally Boston’s best athlete. He had a bright future ahead in the NBA. Rest in Power Terrence. This young man was so talented. Condolences.”
