ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe is making headlines across the nation because of a sideline moment in last nights game.
While reporting from the Utah Utes home game vs. the Florida Gators, Rowe introduced a can of portable oxygen that players were using during the game and used it on the sideline. Her energetic response has gone viral on social media, with her response of “That just gave me a shot of oxygen right to the system.” Likely to be the next big meme.
Though it sounds like a plot from a way worse Dr. Seuss movie, portable oxygen is an actual product, and is common among areas of high altitude. As the air gets thinner, devices like these can help both people and athletes alike in hard to breathe conditions.
As Rowe noted, several Florida players used the product as numerous cans of the portable oxygen lay on the sidelines. Athletes understand the differences between playing in high altitude and lower, and the difference can be jarring if someone isn’t acclimated to the altitude, which this device helps.
Rowe’s spirited endorsement of the product helped to punctuate the necessity of the portable oxygen can, and likely helped increase sales.
Here’s how social media reacted to Holly’s actions:
