Jordan Addison is the most talked about name in college football as he is squarely in the middle of some drama as the Pitt wide receiver is reportedly headed to the transfer portal en route to Southern Cal.
Panthers coach Pat Narduzzi is not thrilled about it all.
Alabama is reportedly in the mix for him, but all the smoke and controversy is around USC and an apparently massive NIL deal. According to multiple reports, Addison is considering a transfer and NIL opportunities are a prominent factor.
According to Pittsburgh sports reporter Mike Vukovcan, Addison has been offered a deal north of $2 million. Vukovcan also added that the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner was offered $800,000 to play for Kentucky after the end of 2021.
“This is a really fascinating situation that’s suddenly thrust itself to the forefront of being the biggest story in all of college football,” Thamel said. “Jordan Addison won the Biletnikoff [Award] last year. He was a first-team All-American. The Pitt football staff has essentially accused USC of tampering in this situation. They feel strongly like USC is a possible destination.
“It’s to the point where Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi multiple times called USC coach Lincoln Riley yesterday and had some pointed conversations with him to express his displeasure. I really think we may look back on this as something in college football that’s a little bit of a pivot point. You have one of the most established stars in the sport who will find out in the next 18 hours whether or not he could go on the open market.”

Sources also tell Pittsburgh Sports Now that new USC head coach Lincoln Riley is believed to have used the same questionable tactics to lure Oklahoma freshman quarterback Caleb Williams from Oklahoma to USC.
This would be a terrible loss for Pitt as they would stand to lose a two-year starter who developed from a four-star recruit out of Frederick, Maryland into the best wide receiver in college football.
After two seasons at Pitt, he will reportedly finish his career with 160 catches for 2,259 yards and 21 touchdowns in just 24 games.
