The 2024 NFL Draft is a little over a week away, and JJ McCarthy continues to gain traction as one of the top quarterbacks available. However, it remains to be seen where he could actually land.
JJ McCarthy might actually find himself landing with a team that will have to make a move in the NFL Draft to secure his services.
According to ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler: “Multiple teams believe Minnesota or Denver could be trade-up options for [J.J.] McCarthy, who’s considered a good fit in both places.”
Those teams are the Minnesota Vikings and the Denver Broncos, who have reportedly expressed interest in drafting J.J. McCarthy. Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is reportedly “quite enamored” with the former Wolverines’ national champion. The Denver Broncos own eight picks in the 2024 NFL draft, including the No. 12 pick.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated this week that the Minnesota Vikings are “best positioned” to move up in the 2024 NFL draft to select Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, but they may have to leap over the New York Giants at No. 6 in order to get him. The Vikings have the Nos. 11 and 23 picks in the first round of the draft.

JJ McCarthy Might Be The Fourth QB Off The Board In The NFL Draft
There appears to be agreement among observers regarding the top three quarterbacks available in the 2024 NFL Draft: Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye.
After those three, many have former Michigan Wolverines star quarterback JJ McCarthy coming off the board as the fourth. As we get closer to the draft, trades will surely happen so his team might not be available until the very last minute.
McCarthy is coming off an undefeated Wolverines season, where he led the team to a national championship in January. He threw for 2,991 passing yards, and 22 touchdowns for the second straight season.
He is a proven winner as he finished his collegiate career with a 27-1 record as a starter over two years.
