General Booty is headed elsewhere to finish out his college career.
A native of Shreveport and the son of former LSU receiver Abram Booty, General Booty has announced his commitment to the University of Louisiana Monroe.
He tweeted, “I’m Excited to go to work with my new teammates at The University of Louisiana Monroe! I’m coming home!”
General Booty spent two seasons in Norman with the Sooners after he originally transferred to Oklahoma in May of 2022 after playing at Tyler Junior College.
Booty played in two games; the first one was during Oklahoma’s repeated quarterback injuries during the 2022 TCU game. The next was in the season opener last year against Arkansas State. Neither time were any statistics kept track of for Booty.
Booty moved around a ton in high school as he played four different schools in Texas and California, and was a three-star recruit in the class of 2021.

Multiple Programs Reached Out With Interest In General Booty
General Booty will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, which is why so many programs reached out once he hit the transfer portal.
After entering the transfer portal this offseason, multiple Group of Five programs reached out. Pete Nakos of On3 believed that ULM and Samford would be the last two, although Tulsa and UTSA also showed interest.
According to the source, Booty was in contact with one Power Five program throughout his recruitment. Additionally, Booty was given the chance to serve as Cade McNamara’s backup on the Iowa Hawkeyes this season before vying for the starting position prior to the 2025 campaign.
