Ed Orgeron has been a wild man since divorcing his wife.
There are a number of reasons that Ed Orgeron is going to be leaving LSU at the end of this season, as the school and football coach worked out terms of his departure on Sunday. Since winning a national title in January 2020, the Tigers have gone 9-8 and falling fast out of contention in the SEC West.
Outside of their poor performance on the field, Coach O’s character has been brought into question when The Athletic’s Brody Miller reported that he was accused of hitting on the pregnant wife of an LSU official at a gas station.
WBRZ’s Matt Trent also reported that Orgeron had “girlfriends” at LSU practice that would interfere when the children of those women would take part in drills.
Here’s how the scene played out with Coach O hitting on a pregnant and married woman of that LSU official.

“It created messes for him, like the time Orgeron pulled up to a woman at a gas station wearing exercise attire. “Hey, you look like you work out,” he said, according to multiple sources. “We could work out together.” The woman informed Orgeron she was married and pregnant, to which he responded, “Why does that matter?”
That woman was the wife of a high-ranking LSU official. Word of this reached the LSU Board of Supervisors, the collection of prominent Louisiana attorneys and business owners appointed by the governor who make the most important decisions at LSU. And of course, it reached LSU athletic director Scott Woodward.”
Orgeron filed for divorce from his wife back on February 26. The petition stated that he and wife Kelly “have lived separate and apart without reconciliation since that date.”
After 23 years of marriage, Coach O clearly feels free and is acting like it any chance he gets.
