Should Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers decide to part ways, the Denver Broncos appear to be the front-runners to acquire the reigning back-to-back NFL MVP.
Not only do the Broncos have plenty to offer Rodgers (with a plethora of weapons on offense at his disposal), but they also have assets to offer the Packers in order to satisfy their needs in a trade.
In fact, according to at least one source, Denver already has their trade offer ready for Green Bay. And while it may not be as much as some thought Rodgers might garner on the trade market, it’s still enough to get the Packers’ attention, you’d think.
Based on a recent report from Steelers beat writer Dale Lolley, the Broncos are ready to offer the Packers their 9th overall pick in 2022, along with their second-rounder from this year, and their first-rounder for 2023.
That’s an awfully lucrative package, but when you consider other recent blockbuster trades involving massive draft packages, this would actually seem like a steal for Denver if they could pull it off.
All you have to do is look back four years, when the Bears traded two first-round picks, a third-rounder an a sixth-rounder for linebacker Khalil Mack. Sure, Mack was one of the best defensive players in the league at the time, but he’s still not as valuable as a quarterback of Rodgers’ caliber. And yet, he essentially netted the Raiders a similar package to what the Broncos plan to offer Green Bay.

Two years before that deal, the Eagles traded the Browns two first-round picks, a second-round pick, a third-rounder and a fourth in exchange for the second overall pick in the 2016 draft, which they used to select Carson Wentz…
Are you telling me Wentz is worth more than Rodgers?
Based on some of the deals we’ve seen in the past, it wouldn’t surprise me to hear that the Packers are looking for at least one more first-rounder and possibly a few more day two picks and players. But at least this rumored initial offer from the Broncos is a start!
