The college football world is in mourning after the tragic death of Jyilek Harrington.
The West Virginia State University student-athlete was tragically shot and killed.
The 21-year-old West Virginia State University football player was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after police stated an altercation began in the hallway at an apartment complex on Regency Drive near Corridor G.
Jyilek Harrington, who transferred to West Virginia State from Carson-Newman College in Tennessee, was a senior member of the Yellow Jacket football team. He had just transferred there this year and played inside linebacker for the football team.

“In addition, the Athletic Department is establishing a GoFundMe in Jyilek’s honor. During Christmas time, Jyilek would create a GoFundMe to support less fortunate families, and this will be a way to continue that important work. We send our sincere condolences to Jyilek’s family, friends, coaches, and teammates during this difficult time.”
The shooting remains under investigation as police said no suspect has been identified.
