The Alabama Crimson Tide have been pulled back down to earth following their huge win against Georgia, dropping from the No. 1 spot in the rankings after a loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday.
And one of their players is looking to transfer out in the wake of it all.
The Tide entered the weekend as 20-point favorites over the Commodores yet suffered a 40-35 defeat as the latter managed to hold on to their lead for a win that saw them improve to 3-2 for the season.
Alabama will rue the loss, given how bright things looked after their win over the Bulldogs two weekends ago. They will also have to deal with a player departure as ESPN’s Pete Thamel has reported that defensive lineman Jeheim Oatis is planning to redshirt and enter the transfer portal.
Alabama Crimson Tide DL Unhappy With Playing Time
Oatis is apparently unhappy with his playing time after featuring in 25 snaps over the course of two outings.

“Alabama junior DT Jehiem Oatis plans to redshirt and enter the NCAA transfer portal, he told ESPN. Oatis started 13 games his first two years and was a Top 40 recruit. He said the reason for leaving is playing time, as he played 25 total snaps against Georgia and Wisconsin,” Thamel noted.
Oatis, who has started 13 games in two seasons, was a four-star recruit out of Columbia High School. He is taking advantage of a rule allowing players to redshirt if they have played in four games or less.
Meanwhile, Alabama has dropped to the AP’s No. 7 spot following the weekend’s astonishing result.
