The post-Nick Saban era is off to a rough start for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett is in a ton of trouble yet again after he was arrested for speeding Friday night.
According to Stephen Dethrage of Tide 100.9 FM, the Crimson Tide offensive lineman was charged with a misdemeanor charge of Exhibition of Speed, which carries a potential jail sentence of three months and a fine of up to $500 if found guilty.
Pritchett was driving erratically in front of a store near the intersection of University Boulevard and Campus Drive when the University of Alabama Police Department officers noticed him. Pritchett was operating a black Dodge Charger. Three police officers apparently tried to approach the automobile on foot, at which point Pritchett allegedly changed lanes and disappeared. Police wrote in their description that they could hear the sounds of tires squealing as the vehicle drove away.
Returning to their police cruiser, the officers started looking for the vehicle. It was eventually seen “driving at a high rate of speed across the intersection of Frank Thomas Avenue and 6th Street” by a sergeant.
At the Walk of Champions in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium, Prichett was stopped. He was taken into custody.
Pritchett paid a $300 bond and was let go.
