Reggie Chaney, who played college basketball at Arkansas and then at Houston, passed away on Monday.
He was only 23.
Chaney played for Arkansas from 2018-2019, before transferring to Houston after his second season with the Razorbacks. He played on the 2021 Houston team that advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament that year.
Chaney played forward in 63 games for the Razorbacks and 104 for the Cougars. He ended his college career at Houston this past season. The Cougars made it to the Sweet Sixteen before losing to Miami in 2022.
Chaney averaged 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 69 games, including 9 starts, at Arkansas. With the Cougars, Chaney averaged 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 104 games, including 24 starts. He was named Sixth Man of the Year in the American Athletic Conference in 2022-23.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 4.0 points. 2.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists on 66 percent shooting from the field during his career.

Chaney was a 3-star prospect out of Findlay Prep in Nevada. He averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game as a senior.
