We already knew that refs would have their imprint on this National Title game, and that’s exactly what happened in the first half.
In the second quarter, LSU Tigers running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire tried to avoid a Clemson defender near the sidelines, but his hand clearly touched out of bounds as he continued to run until he was tackled.
Refs didn’t catch it, and because the Tigers were going no huddle, the replay booth didn’t stop the game for a review.
The Tigers would soon score and take the lead.
