Texas Longhorns fans are already done with quarterback Quinn Ewers following his display against Rice this weekend.
Ewers had already rubbed fans the wrong way after committing to Texas and then reclassifying and flipping to Ohio State. But he returned after sitting behind C.J. Stroud, who has since been drafted and is getting set for his first season as a pro with the Houston Texans.
The QB had an impressive stint before a shoulder injury wrecked his season and, though he returned, his performances were very inconsistent.
He was expected to step things up this season and certainly did not put in a bad performance against the Longhorns’ most recent opponents, going 14-of-23 for 163 yards and a touchdown. However, Texas generally struggled, going into halftime with a 16-3 lead.
Fans did not take kindly to it…

While Ewers did not have a terrible outing and one half of a football game is not a suitable barometer in such a regard, Quinn would do well to take things up a notch as Arch Manning is waiting on an opportunity.
The QB ended the game with 260 yards on 19-of-30 passing for three TDs.
