For the first time in more than a decade, EA Sports will be releasing a college football video game.
For over 11,000 college football players, Thursday was the first chance to opt into EA Sports’ new college football game, EA Sports College Football 25, and get paid for it. All athletes who opt-in to have their name, image, and likeness appear will eventually receive $600, plus a copy of the game.
Texas football fans excited for the upcoming College Football ’25 game will be glad to hear that Quinn Ewers is in.
Ewers posted to his Instagram that officially included his name alongside the “College Football 25” logo with the caption “I’m in the game.”
“I’m in the game,” Ewers wrote for his caption.
Ewers, one of the Heisman favorites entering next season, has a case for being the video game’s cover athlete following his play on the field last year.

The cover athlete will be revealed at a later date.
EA Sports is releasing College Football 25, its first college football game since 2013, though there has not been an official release date announced yet.
This game is possible thanks to the Name, Image, and Likeness era of college sports, allowing players to be compensated directly for their status as a college athlete in sponsorship deals.
