The eyes of the sporting world are on the North Carolina Tar Heels right now.
The program has hired former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, bringing the 72-year-old in on a reported five-year deal worth $50 million following the end of his tenure with the NFL team.
Belichick will hope to turn things around on the back of the school’s 6-6 finish to the season. But a certain cheerleader is turning heads online, given the development.
Cayden Bell has been trending on social media since the appointment. The junior cheerleader, who has around 4,000 followers on Instagram, started out at Chapel Hill 2022 and posted several photos to commemorate her debut two Septembers ago.
Bell is studying biology at UNC and has claimed that her favorite memory from being a Tar Heel is “seeing all of her friends and family in the crowd while she’s cheering!”

Bill Belichick Might Make Things Awward For Cheerleaders At UNC
Of course, Bill Belichick’s apparent fondness for young cheerleaders will make it so that the spotlight is on the program’s dancers. And it hasn’t taken long for one of them to grab folks’ attention.
The program is well aware of the fact that it’s landed a high-profile coach with a remarkable track record.
“This is an exciting day for Carolina football and our University,” Chancellor Lee H. Roberts said as part of the appointment announcement.
“Carolina is committed to excellence and to creating an opportunity to succeed in everything we do, from the classroom to the field of competition. I know after speaking with Coach Belichick that he shares that commitment. His legacy speaks for itself, and we look forward to working together on the next chapter of Carolina football.”
Expect Belichick’s debut as UNC head coach next season to be a significant draw.
