Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has been accused of cheating by a rival coach in a tweet that has since been deleted.
Deion Sanders is entering his second season as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. After winning just a single game in 2022, the Buffaloes quadrupled their win total under “Prime Time” and finished 4-8.
On X/Twitter, Colorado State University Pueblo head football coach Philip Vigil posted a screenshot of a conversation between one of his players and Colorado Football Assistant Director Of Player Personnel Devin Rispress.
Vigil accuses Colorado of tampering and trying to recruit one of the CSU Pueblo players. Though the tweet has been deleted, a fan wisely screenshotted it beforehand and shared it on X:
In a follow-up tweet, Vigil explained that he took it down “to allow the NCAA to address” the situation. The NCAA has not commented on the matter yet.

Deion Sanders signed a lucrative multi-year deal (reportedly worth $29.5 million) with the Buffaloes after a successful three-year stint at Jackson State, leading the Tigers to consecutive SWAC Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Widely regarded as the greatest cornerback ever, Sanders also won Super Bowl 29 and Super Bowl 30 with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, respectively. Sanders was named to eight Pro Bowls and won 1994 Defensive Player of the Year honors.
