Wrigley Field isn’t necessarily known for its ability to host football games, yet it’s one of the most historic sports venues in sports history. Either way, it will host a college football game this upcoming week.
The venue is the home stadium of the Chicago Cubs, who have an insane all-time record at their home venue. The historic baseball club is a whopping 6026-4929 when playing at home at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs, however, won’t be the focus of the stadium this weekend. It will be buzzing with college students as Northwestern is set to take on Ohio State in what could be a blowout win for the Buckeyes.
However, the game could be interesting to watch after photos of the field were recently dropped. The teams could lose some of their fastest players due to the proximity of the walls to the out-of-bounds lines in the endzone.
Ohio State And Northwestern Players Could Could Be Getting Injured At Wrigley Field
Ohio State may be the luckier team if the injuries happen, which we hope they don’t. Northwestern is set to play two games at Wrigley Field, where they could possibly end up with a record of 6-5 if all goes according to plan.

However, fans are pointing out the flaws of the field as well. “Jeremiah Smith about to catch a fade TD and end up in the Club Box behind Home Plate,” joked one college football fan, adding a laughing face.
One fan looked at the field and claimed that it was an “injury waiting to happen,” while another pointed out that the field could have been set up way better, and the current position looks awful and dangerous.
While we may not like the field setup, it doesn’t seem like it will change anytime soon. Fans will just have to deal with the fact that the players may be at risk of injury during the game, but the risk is higher this time.
