A five-star safety recruit Peyton Bowen pulled a U-turn on his mother that left her visibly upset.
National signing day is always a big one in the collegiate world, where families are concerned. Parents obviously have a big part to play in where their kids go to play and, even if they don’t always agree with their decisions, they’re usually in the know.
Mama Doesn’t Always Know
Peyton Bowen’s mother didn’t seem like she knew he wanted to suit up for the Oregon Ducks instead of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
While near the customary desk on Wednesday, the safety reached out for the Notre Dame hat in front of him, much to his mom’s delight. However, her joy was short-lived as he quickly switched to put on the Oregon hat, saying, “Go Ducks.”
You could see her reaction right below.
Bowen is the second-highest-rated safety in the country. He had been committed to Notre Dame since early January this year but has made multiple unofficial visits to other schools since then. It would seem his decision to join Oregon was never run by his mother.
