ESPN’s Pete Thamel has outlined the likeliest punishment the Big Ten will hand down to Michigan Wolverines.
The NCAA is still investigating the program’s alleged sign stealing but the conference could penalize the school before it concludes.
Speaking on ‘College GameDay’ this Saturday, Thamel suggested that head coach Jim Harbaugh will likely be suspended sometime after today’s game against Purdue.
The reporter revealed that Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti has been in contact with college football’s governing body and has gathered facts pertaining to the case, while he’s also spoken to athletic directors, coaches, and administrators from the conference.
“The most likely scenario here is some type of suspension for Jim Harbaugh,” he said. “I wouldn’t expect anything to happen today before the kickoff against Purdue at 7:30, but in the upcoming days, I would expect that we’re going to find out whether or not the Big Ten will punish Jim Harbaugh, what that will be and how long that suspension would be potentially.”

Meanwhile, Connor Stalions has decided to resign from his post, stepping down on Friday night, having already been placed on suspension by the NCAA.
The former analyst insists Harbaugh and the other coaches knew nothing of his actions.
