ESPN commentator Pete Sousa is under fire for a comment about Kentucky Wildcats’ running back Ray Davis.
During the broadcast of the Wildcats’ home game against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, Sousa mentioned that Davis was greatly sought-after in the transfer portal last year. Davis decided to to transfer from Vanderbilt after spending two years with the Commodores.
Sousa’s commentary went off the rails, however, when he stated, “11 years ago, as a foster kid, really nobody wanted him.”
It’s simply impossible to understand what would make Sousa say something so out of line like that. Unsurprisingly, Sousa came under fire for the comments.

Davis finished with a game-high 52 rushing yards on 12 carries to go along with three receptions for 36 yards and one receiving TD. Davis’ efforts helped the Wildcats to a 28-17 victory over their rivals which moved his team to 2-0 on the year.
As of midnight on Sunday, Sousa had yet to comment on the matter.
