Paul Finebaum is known for going at football coaches and never holds back in his criticism. However, the ESPN college analyst had some high praise for Deion Sanders following his team’s big win on Saturday.
Coach Prime led his Colorado Buffaloes to a 45-42 win over TCU on the day and the hype is still palpable in the wake of what turned out to be an absolute thriller in Fort Worth, Texas.
Finebaum was among those who waxed lyrical over Sanders and his team after the upset.
“I mean you just have to give them so much credit,” he was quoted as saying, having spoken on the ‘Matt Barrie Show’ this Sunday (H/T On3). “And forget Prime for a second. His players, his son, Travis Hunter?”
“It just shows you what he does and what he means to a program. You can get all these other guys and you can run your team off. But, if you have superstars, and he does? It matters.”
Finebaum reckons Deion’s success could lead to mass changes on the college football scene, given Prime’s unconventional methods.

“(It’s) the kind of thing that can create an epidemic,” he added. “That sets off alarm bells.”
The Buffaloes will look to go 2-0 when they play Nebraska this coming Saturday.
Should the likes of Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Dylan Edwards perform as well as they did in their season opener, it could make for quite a spectacle in Boulder.
