Jalen Hurts might be the happiest man in America right now.
After losing his job to Tua Tagovailoa — Hurts would take his talents and he got off to a STRONG start. The former Alabama quarterback unleashed 508 yards of total offense, finishing the game 20-for-23 with 332 passing yards, 176 rushing yards on 16 carries and six touchdowns (three rushing, three passing) in Oklahoma’s 49–31 win over Houston.
Somehow, Nick Saban saw none of that performance. The Bama head coach was happy to hear Hurts played well, but claimed he didn’t watch any of it.
“I didn’t see the game last night, we work on Sunday nights,” Saban told reporters on Monday. “But I hear he played extremely well and did an outstanding job, and that doesn’t surprise me in the least bit.”
“We’re really happy for him, not only in the way he handled himself throughout this entire process but now that he’s having success, as well.”
Paul Finebaum thinks he is a straight up liar.
Finebaum appeared on SportsCenter on Tuesday and spelled out why he thinks Saban is not telling the truth about the situation.
“It’s very predictable that Nick Saban never sees anything or hears anything,” Finebaum said, per 247Sports’ Brad Crawford. “It’s funny, a couple years ago, the morning of the election, he didn’t realize today was election day. The whole country (did). I think he probably saw it.
“I’ve been to that facility in Tuscaloosa. There are televisions everywhere and something tells me that the only game in the country going on was probably on the television.
“I just don’t think he didn’t want to admit the obvious that Jalen Hurts is doing extraordinarily well. Remember the back story that Jalen was a two-year starter at Alabama and took Alabama to the national championship game and then was replaced by Tua (Tagovailoa). Lost his job and came on and saved the day in the SEC title game.Nick Saban is always playing games. That’s why he’s Nick Saban.”

Hurts certainly is playing the 2019 season with a chip on his shoulder and show the Crimson Tide they screwed up by giving his job away.
