ESPN’s Pat McAfee broke the focus of the “College GameDay” crew during a report on Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe ahead of Monday’s Rose Bowl showdown against the No. 1 ranked Michigan Wolverines.
On the broadcast, Rece Davis was telling the audience that Milroe’s signature “LANK” mantra stands for “Let A Naysayer Know.” While Davis was reporting this, McAfee interrupted and told Davis he thought it stood for something else…
Thanks to the NCAA changes to its policies on NIL deals for student athletes, Milroe has been able to make a pretty penny off his LANK apparel. The 21-year-old will try to help the Crimson Tide spoil Michigan’s undefeated season when the two teams clash at 5 p.m. EST.
The other bowl game will see the No. 2 ranked Washington Huskies square off against the No. 3 ranked Texas Longhorns. The winners of both games will meet in the national championship game next Monday.
