Pat McAfee is a funny guy, but sometimes his humor can go a bit far.
The popular football analyst and host’s tenure at ESPN got off to an awkward start as the company began laying off top talent right after they signed him to a five-year, $85 million deal.
He made headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again this weekend.
Evan Fox, a colleague on The Pat McAfee Show, posted a picture of Michigan State players in terrible uniforms, which had McAfee jump in the comments and state the jerseys were designed by disgraced former Spartans sports doctor Larry Nassar.
“I think Nassar was in on the design team actually,” McAfee tweeted in response to a photo of Michigan State football’s alternate uniforms.
McAfee found himself being ripped for his words.

As you may be aware, Nassar worked at the school for over two decades and would plead guilty to 10 counts of felony criminal sexual conduct in the first degree for assaulting gymnasts for years. He also pled guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison.
There have been many questions about how Pat McAfee will fit in at ESPN and if he will continue to receive the same freedom he enjoys as an independent podcaster.
ESPN showed that trust in McAfee by giving him a significant contract figure, so we shall see how they respond to this first major controversy.
