Oregon State Beavers superstar quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is taking his talents to one of the nation’s top programs.
Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Uiagalelei has committed to the Florida State Seminoles. Uiagalelei, who announced his move into the transfer portal early last month, was at Clemson for three years (2020 to 2022) before moving to Oregon State for 2023.
The Seminoles are likely to lose starting quarterback Jordan Travis, who’s expected to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
There was controversy over the CFP committee’s decision to leave the Seminoles out of the four-team postseason. Despite winning their first 13 games, the Seminoles were left out in favor of both Texas and Alabama, who each lost one regular season contest.
The Seminoles wrapped up their 2023 season on Saturday against the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs, who cruised to a 63-3 victory. Florida State, however, was without a plethora of its key starters for that game.
