Hours before FedExForum opened its doors for several NCAA tournament games, there was more gun violence in this country, and at least one person was affected by it.
Memphis Police are investigating now after one man was shot Friday morning, not far from FedExForum in downtown.
Before the first game of the NCAA Tournament kicked off, Memphis police stated shots rang out in the 200 block of Turley Street just before 9 a.m. The unidentified man was rushed to Regional One in non-critical condition, according to Memphis police.
As of the latest updates, the police are stating that the shooter and the victim knew each other before shots rang out.
Fox 13 Memphis stated police reported the two men began arguing and fighting inside a home in the area before one man ran outside, grabbed a gun, and shot the other man four times in the hallway.
The shooting victim would then run outside and find an officer.
As of now, nobody has been taken into custody and nothing has changed as the NCAA Tournament has kicked off.

There are four games scheduled to take place at FedExForum this Friday, with the Colgate Raiders and Baylor Bears doing battle in the first game. That NCAA game is a battle of the number 14 seed and 3 seed.
The next game will be the 11th New Mexico Lobos and the number 6 Clemson Tigers. The third game in Memphis will feature Texas A&M and Nebraska.
The fourth and final game that’ll be played at FedExForum will be the Houston Cougars against Longwood.
