During Ohio State’s commencement on Sunday afternoon, tragedy hit Ohio Stadium, taking the life of one person prematurely.
The Lantern, the student newspaper of Ohio State, has revealed that one person tragically died after falling from the top of the school’s football stadium. According to reports, the event happened at Ohio Stadium’s Bell Tower.
Ben Johnson, the Ohio State spokesperson, released a comment on the unfortunate event.
“An individual fell from the stands. They are deceased,” he said. “We have no additional details to share at this time. Police and emergency responders are on the scene. For anyone affected by today’s incident, we will make counseling and other support resources available.”
The site where the guy fell was surrounded by a lot of yellow tape, according to the Columbus Dispatch. Students and spectators alike were clearly distressed by what they had seen, according to Jordan Laird of the Dispatch.
Counseling and other options will be provided for anyone touched by the incident, according to a university official. The Ohio State spring commencement ceremony for 2024 started at noon and ended at 3 p.m. A spokesman for the university stated that the incident had no bearing on the graduation process.

Ohio State Buckeyes Looking To Get Back To Better Days After Sour End To 2023 Season
In 2022, both Michigan and Ohio State made the College Football Playoff. In 2023, the Buckeyes would lose in a late-season game to the Wolverines, who would go on to win the National Championship.
The loss would send Ohio State to the 88th edition of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where they would lose 14-3.
The team hopes to not only rebound in 2024 but also end a 3-game losing streak against the Wolverines.
