Mel Kiper has gone on record stating Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders will be an early first-round pick should he opt into the 2024 NFL Draft. With praise like that, you’d think teams would be lining up to watch Coach Prime’s son as they take on their toughest test yet in the no. 10 ranked Oregon Ducks.
Oddly enough, only one NFL team decided to send a scout to today’s highly-anticipated game in Eugene.
According to Oregon Ducks insider Matt Prehm, the Pittsburgh Steelers were the only team that had a scout in the building at Autzen Stadium.
Of all the teams, it’s interesting to see the Steelers in attendance, as they just drafted their supposed franchise quarterback in 2022 when they took Kenny Pickett out of Pitt.
There’s always the possibility that Mike Tomlin’s club considers taking another signal-caller in 2024 if Pickett doesn’t show enough growth this season… Then again, there are plenty of other intriguing players at other positions taking part in this game. So it’s anyone’s guess who the Steelers’ scouting staff have their eyes on.
The real question is all of this is, where the heck are the scouting staffs of for the other 31 NFL teams?
