LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne has addressed a recent occasion at last month’s College World Series.
The 20-year-old Dunne attended the LSU Tigers’ College World Series game against Wake Forest at Charles Schwab Field Omaha on June 19. Dunne had posted on social media that she was there to represent the Tigers, and fans at the ballpark quickly rushed over Dunne’s section to try and meet her.
The viral moment was brought up during Dunne’s appearance on the “Full Send Podcast”. There, Dunne simply explained that she’s used to young fans and their dads asking for pictures:
“Ever since I did Sports Illustrated, too, there are like 12-year-olds and their dad (asking for photos). Usually when people come up to me and they’re older, they say it’s for their daughter’s friend’s sister’s brother’s dog.”
It can be extremely overwhelming for celebrities to deal with a bunch of fans at once, especially in a public setting where they just want to enjoy themselves (such as a baseball game, here in Dunne’s case).

But the popular social media personality and TikTok star certainly handled things well here. She obviously had to have been prepared for it after posting that she was in attendance on social media.
LSU would lose that second round game to Wake Forest by a final score of 3-2, but they went on to capture the national championship by defeating the Florida Gators 2-1 in the College World Series finals.
The school’s victory came less than three months after the LSU Tigers’ women’s basketball team claimed the national championship.
