The Ole Miss Rebels have parted ways with one of the top receiver prospects in the nation.
Per Michael Katz of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, the Rebels have dismissed wide receiver Chris Marshall because of team violations. The exact details of the team violations were not immediately revealed.
Tyler Komis of 247 Sports shared a statement from Ole Miss on the decision to part ways with the five-star recruit. The school said, “We wish him luck in his future plans” without offering further details on the rule violations.
Marshall spent the 2022 season with Texas A&M, racking up 11 receptions for 108 yards on the year. Last year, the Rebels finished 8-5 but fell to Texas Tech 42-25 in the Texas Bowl.
Marshall would have been a welcoming addition to a high-powered Ole Miss offense that saw three offensive players get drafted this year. Wide receiver Jonathan Mingo went 39th overall to the Carolina Panthers, running back Zack Evans went 215th overall to the Los Angeles Rams and guard Nick Broeke went 230st overall to the Buffalo Bills.

We’ll be sure to provide more details on the Rebels’ decision to cut Marshall when they become available.
