If you thought the NFL was the only place where officials were ruining the outcomes of football games, think again.
During an NCAA battle between Cal and Ole Miss earlier today, the Rebels were trailing by 8 late in the contest and driving. Lined up at the Golden Bears’ three-yard line, Ole Miss quarterback John Rhys Plumlee hit Elijah Moore for what appeared to be a touchdown, but the officials marked him short of the goal line. With the clock running, and the refs seemingly uninterested in reviewing the close play, Ole Miss was forced to hustle to the line and run one final quarterback sneak, which was stuffed.
That final stop gave Cal the 28-20 victory, but not without some controversy.
Upon further review, it appears as though Moore clearly got in for the touchdown.
So why wasn’t it reviewed? That’s the question everyone at Ole Miss will want an answer to as their team falls to 2-2 on the season with the loss.
