The Ole Miss Rebels fan base went from having a dream season to being part of an epic collapse within the past three weeks.
It continued on Thursday night during the Egg Bowl. Lane Kiffin is in his third year with Ole Miss and has gone 23-12 during that time, including an 8-4 mark this season, as the Rebels lost four of their final five games after a 7-0 start.
Once the game was officially over, things got real bad when several Ole Miss fans threw trash onto the field. Somebody in the crowd could be seen throwing a chair as well which went in the direction of the Mississippi State players.
Luckily for everybody involved, nobody on the field was injured but hopefully, a closer camera angle can get those fans located and in trouble for their actions in the stands over a football game.
Things could possibly get worse as head coach Lane Kiffin was in the news this week for his rumored connection to the Auburn job. Kiffin met privately with his team Wednesday confirming his plans to remain. As we know, a college head coach’s word means close to nothing as many have shown in the past to do the complete opposite of what they say.
Mississippi State, which snapped a two-game losing streak in the series, improve to 8-4 and will now await the announcement of their bowl destination on Dec. 4.
