With NIL deals helping college players use their likeness for money, the Oklahoma Sooners’ Quarterback General Booty has the perfect sponsor.
Booty reveals his NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal with Rock ‘Em Socks, a creative socks company, where he announced he will launch a new underwear collection. Steve Rollins, the Senior vice president of Rock ‘Em Socks, also announced that Booty even helped design his collection.
The idea is fun enough, and its great that Booty has a since of humor about the deal, and he’s even released a video on his branding, claiming “there’s a new general in town.” Fans are already having fun with the brand.
Booty is on a loaded Oklahoma team. A red shirt sophomore, he’ll likely back up senior Dillon Gabriel, who threw for over 3100 yards and 25 touchdowns. The Sooners went 6-7 last year in the Big 12, including going 3-6 against their conference, and lost in the Cheez-It Bowl in a close game to #13 Florida State.
Booty and the Sooners hope to make a splash in the current Big 12 conference, and their hopes will face ranked opponents the likes of #11 Texas and TCU, who is coming off of a BCS Bowl appearance.
