Ohio State has lost another player to the transfer portal as a five-star wide receiver has joined quarterback Kyle McCord in throwing his name out there.
Julian Fleming, ranked the No. 1 wideout in the nation in 2020, has announced that he’s transferring from the program.
“Thank you Buckeye Nation!” he posted to X on Monday.
While Fleming came in with a burgeoning reputation and had a decent career with the Buckeyes, he never quite lived up to the hype.
With the portal now open, he will be searching for an opportunity elsewhere.
As for McCord, many reckon he was going to lose the starting job in any case as he isn’t considered QB1 material.

“I am extremely thankful for my time at Ohio State. Playing in the scarlet and gray was truly an honor,” he said in his own announcement on Monday. “I’m grateful for all of the life long relationships I’ve made along the way here in Columbus. My teammates, my brothers, I’m appreciative for each and every one of you.”
Ohio State lost out on a chance to play in the College Football Playoff after losing to Michigan last weekend and has seen over 10 players enter the transfer portal. They are scheduled to play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl on December 29.
