A number of publications are reporting that Dylan Raiola has decommited from Ohio State.
Raiola is widely touted as the top-ranking quarterback in the 2024 class and, though the Buckeyes have pushed their way through to the playoffs, the player has decided to renege on his commitment. Ohio State’s exploits have not been enough to convince Dylan that’s where he should be playing.
The QB had been committed since May 2022 and is understood to have had a good relationship with head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes’ coaching staff. But he’s since removed mentions of the program from his social media accounts and it’s now being reported that he has decommited.
Dylan Raiola Re-Evaluating His Options
Per an On3 source, the player was keen on reconsidering his options, with Georgia, USC and Oregon now thought to be in the race.
Raiola’s sister attends another university with a program in the CFB playoffs, Texas Christian University. His father Dominic also attended Nebraska, while his uncle is on Matt Rhule’s Cornhuskers staff.
Dominic has told ESPN his son isn’t looking to commit to another program just yet.

Dylan, who stands at 6ft 3 in and weighs 220 pounds, completed his junior season with 2,435 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He’s also considered to be the No.1 pocket passer in said class.
As for Ohio State, this development comes on the back of the program reportedly missing out on a vaunted five-star recruit because they couldn’t afford to pay him enough. The unnamed player is understood to have been offered up to $1.8M plus $800K per season to sign by another university, while OSU couldn’t propose anything above $500K.
Coach Day has previously stated that Ohio State will need as much as $13 million to keep his current roster together following the introduction of NIL.
