Nick Saban won a bowl game and still wasn’t happy when it was all said and done.
Alabama topped Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl on Saturday 45-20, but he had a huge message to all of the players who decided to skip out on playing.
“I think the guys who are here today, the team who’s here today, is a great representative of the University of Alabama.”
Alabama had several athletes to enter the transfer portal. He told reporters that he gave them all the opportunity to play in the bowl game, but they declined.
“We did not have any opt outs, but we had like 10 guys that got in the transfer portal,” he said on Friday.

“I gave them the opportunity to play in the bowl game if they wanted to, and they did not. I don’t know if that is a good thing for players not to have to stay committed to their team for an entire season. So, there are a lot of things in college football I think that … transfer portal has created a challenge for us in terms of how to manage rosters.”
The names that transferred from Alabama include Khyree Jackson, Trey Sanders, Aaron Anderson, Traeshon Holden, Christian Leary, and many more.
Bryce Young passed for 321 yards and five touchdowns in a game that other top NFL prospects might have skipped. He went out on top.
Alabama finished the season with an 11-2 record.
