Former NFL punter Pat McAfee is one of the most accomplished and beloved sports personalities out there, as evidenced by the popularity of his show (“The Pat McAfee Show”) and success with the WWE.
McAfee was on ESPN’s pre-game show ahead of the National Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the TCU Horned Frogs. The panel also included Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban and Lee Corso, the former head coach of Louisville, Indiana and Northern Illinois.
During the pre-game show, McAfee told a funny story about TCU bringing in their strength and conditioning. McAfee got more and more energetic and animated as he told the story, which is half the humor right there. The other half? The confused-looking reactions from Saban and Corso.
The undefeated Bulldogs made easy work of this year’s Cinderella team, defeating TCU by a final score of 65-7 to claim their second straight national championship. The game was essentially over at halftime when Georgia jumped out to a 38-7 lead.
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett had a near-perfect game, completing 18 of 25 pass attempts for 304 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.
