One of the top prospects eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft is apparently planning to go back to college next year.
According to Bobby Burton of On3.com, Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to return to college next year. One source told Burton that, “The decision may have already been made, but it’s at least 90 percent right now.”
Many scouts and analysts view Ewers as a top-three quarterback prospect that’s eligible for the 2024 class, as well as a top-10 prospect overall.
Ewers, USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye headline a big group of QB prospects that also includes Oregon’s Bo Nix, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders (he’s expected to return to college in 2024), and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Ewers has completed 70.3 percent of his pass attempts this season for 2,232 and 14 touchdowns to go along with 53 rushing yards and five rushing scores.
If Ewers returns to college in 2024, it’ll be interesting to see what third-stringer Arch Manning does.

The highly-touted Manning certainly won’t see much (if any) playing time next year should Ewers commit to another year with the Longhorns. As such, Manning could look at transferring to another program that will give him the chance to start in 2024.
The No. 7 ranked Longhorns are coming off a 29-26 win over the TCU Horned Frogs. Ewers and company will look to improve to 10-1 when they visit Iowa State this Sunday.
