Untold: Swamp Kings will also detail what happened off the field in Gainesville and how the atmosphere contributed to Florida’s success as well as its decline. Meyer arrived in 2005 and delivered his first title in 2006. By the end of the 2010 season, he stepped down for health reasons.
Two players from that era would later be connected to murders, with Aaron Hernandez famously convicted of the murder of Odin Lloyd and safety Tony Joiner recently reaching a plea deal after being charged with the murder of his wife.
The talent at Florida was undeniable, but so was the controversy.
Along with Tebow, eventual first-rounders Maurkice Pouncey and Mike Pouncey, Olympian Jeff Demps, Percy Harvin, cornerback Joe Haden, and others were on those teams.
