The University of Florida is being investigated by the NCAA over their attempts to sign Jaden Rashada.
The Gators tried flipping the quarterback from the Miami Hurricanes in a reported $13.8 million NIL battle, with both schools eventually losing out as he decided to join the Arizona State Sun Devils, where he played last season.
Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reported that the NCAA has been looking into the Gators since last June, having sent them a notice of inquiry. While the school was aware that its staff was being questioned, they weren’t sure why.
The Times and OutKick are now claiming that the probe is centered on possible recruiting violations involving the QB.
Steve McClain, a spokesperson for the Gators, has said that the university will continue to cooperate.
“We have been and will continue to cooperate with the NCAA,” he said. “We hold ourselves to high standards of excellence and integrity on and off the field. Because we follow NCAA policies about maintaining confidentiality, we are unable to offer additional comments.”
