The 2025 Sugar Bowl was slated to be held today in New Orleans. It would see Notre Dame take on Georgia in a battle for supremacy. However, things have changed due to the tragic events on New Year’s Eve.
During the party on Bourbon Street for New Year’s Eve, a 42-year-old terrorist named Shamsud Din Jabbar drove through barricades, killing 10 people and injuring 35 others before crashing his truck. He then is gunned down by police after opening fire.
Due to this senseless tragedy and terror attack, the Sugar Bowl, which was initially scheduled to be held today at the Superdome in New Orleans, has been rescheduled by officials, and a new date for the event has been confirmed.
